We all are a reflection of our thoughts. The thoughts we predominantly think in our mind, shape the way we live our lives. However, we do have the infinite power within us to control the flow of our thoughts. We have the unique ability to master the way our mind works and take conscious control of our thinking at any given point in time.
'Master the Mind' is a concept that has gained popularity in recent times, after we discovered the 'secret' to life. The subconscious mind has gained awareness and energy work has now shifted the way people view their lives. We all know that our magnificent universe is a mass of energy and we all are energy beings born in a human body. Therefore, our role as energy beings is to learn how to master the flow of energy within us.
Every thought is an energy and it becomes a part of our lives when we give it focus and our attention. So how do we learn how to master the flow of our thoughts and learn the art of controlling our mind?
We have an effective 6-step process that can help you master your mind and take conscious control of the energy flowing through you:
Step 1: Analyse Your Current Thoughts
The first step in this process is to analyse the current thought patterns. Take a closer look at how your mind currently works. Think of how you react or respond to any given situation. Take a 360 degree view of your life, and analyse the dominant thoughts in every area of your life. Make a list of the thoughts that arise when you analyse areas like self-love, relationships, health, finances, career, etc. This will give you an idea of how your current thinking patterns are shaping your current reality. Our current reality is a result of the predominant thoughts in our mind, and when we learn how to take conscious control of our thoughts and change them in a more positive way, we change the way we lead our lives.
Step 2: Divide The Thoughts Into Positive And Negative Thinking Patterns
After analysing your dominant thoughts in Step 1, sit with the list of thoughts and divide them into two categories: Positive and Negative Thinking Patterns
Positive thoughts are the thoughts that make you feel good, add value to your life and support you in your growth and evolution. These thoughts are the ones to constantly dwell on and make dominant in the subconscious mind.
Negative thoughts are the ones that create internal blocks, hold you back from your desires and they don't really feel good within. These are the thoughts that need to be either released or changed, based on the nature of the thoughts. These thoughts often stem from limiting beliefs adopted in childhood, past bad experiences and negative programming from social media, society or authority figures at home.
Once we have clarity on the list above, working on reprogramming the mind becomes an easy and effortless process.
Step 3: Release The Negative Thoughts
The next step is to clear the negative thoughts that have taken control of our mind. For the same, sit with the list of thoughts that are not serving you and pulling you away from your desires and analyse the root cause of these thoughts. Ask yourself the following questions:
Where did you first learn to think this way?
Who have you heard or seen think like this before in your life?
What need does this thought fulfil in your life currently?
What emotions or feelings do these thoughts bring up in your body?
How can you make yourself feel better without these thoughts?
Most important - What is the opposite of this thought?
Once you analyse the root cause of these thoughts, burn away the negative list. Burning is a powerful act of brining peace and closure to these old negative thoughts. Thereafter, practice breath work meditation to clear out all the mental blocks and resistance created by these negative thoughts. Doing some energy clearing practices like burning sage, salt water bath, reiki, etc will ensure the dense heavy energies start releasing from your mind and body, making space for new vibrant energy in your life.
Step 4: Build A Solid Inner Foundation
In the previous step, you focused on releasing negative energies within your system. After releasing the heavy energies, you will now have space in your mind to create the new positive energies, that are in alignment with your dream life. The new positive energies require a solid foundation that can sustain the beautiful energies you wish to attract in your life. With some grounding exercises, the aim is to bring your mind-body-soul in alignment and create inner peace and harmony, which are essentials to live a balanced and healthy life. This is where your inner conflict will reduce and your stubborn self-sabotaging patterns will start dissolving, as you are now energetically in alignment with your desired reality.
Step 5: Reprogram your subconscious mind
Reprogramming your subconscious mind begins when you look at yourself as the conscious creator of your life. This step is where the real change begins. In step 2, we created a list of positive and negative thoughts. This step focuses on increasing the list of positive thoughts by constantly reinforcing the loving and happy thoughts in your subconscious mind. The key is to constantly focus on the positives and shift the negative stories in your mind by revising them into the best-case scenario.
'Best-case scenario' is a technique wherein we train our mind to constantly focus on the best possible outcome in any given situation and constantly dwell on what can go right instead of what can go wrong. This trains our mind to let go of the need to be in the survival mode and have the inner assurance that everything is going in the best possible way.
Repetition is the key to reprogram the subconscious mind and bring it into alignment with your desired reality. When you start repeating the new thoughts in your conscious mind, you may experience initial resistance due to the habit embedded in the subconscious mind to think in a certain way. Moreover, your current reality may be showing the complete opposite of what you are repeating, which can lead to disbelief and resistance to accept the new. However, when you consistently persist in the new thoughts and remind yourself that the current reality is your own past creation, you will be able to accept the new empowering thoughts easily and effortlessly. This will shift the way you think and feel internally, eventually shifting your outer reality as well.
It is important to continue persisting in the new story even if something opposite plays out in the outer reality. This usually happens because it is a bridge to your desires. With repetition, your mind will naturally start thinking differently and adopt the new way of thinking, eventually leading to a new way of being.
Step 6: Live your desires now
When you are consistent with the new thoughts in your subconscious mind, you will naturally align to the vibration which is in alignment with your desires. The key is to surrender and not control the outcome of your desires, such as 'when' and 'how' you will receive it. Your only job is to live as if you are already living your desires in the present moment and the desires are already a part of your life in the now.
This will ensure that you are in a state of receiving and not in a place of lack where your desires are nowhere to be seen. With this empowering state, it is only a matter of time till you experience your desires in your physical reality and enjoy it to the fullest.
